There are nine members of the Lewis County Board of Education, each elected at-large to serve staggered four-year terms. Officers are elected by the members of the Lewis County Board of Education. Candidates to the Board of Education must conform to the eligibility requirements of the Tennessee Election Code.
 
Meeting Information
Regular meetings of the Lewis County Board of Education are held each month at the Lewis County Board of Education Meeting Room located at 206 South Court Street, Hohenwald, TN 38462 beginning at 5:30 p.m. during work sessions and 6:00 p.m. during business meetings unless scheduled otherwise.
 
Public Comment (Citizens to Be Heard) Procedure

Individuals desiring to appear before the Board may request placement on the agenda by contacting the office of the Director of Schools within 72 hours before the meeting. They will be recognized at the beginning of the meeting during public input and remarks will be limited to (3) minutes. Items that will be considered for public input must be an action item listed on the agenda. The first five (5) people who sign up for a particular action item on the agenda will be allowed to address the Board.
