There are nine members of the Lewis County Board of Education, each elected at-large to serve staggered four-year terms. Officers are elected by the members of the Lewis County Board of Education. Candidates to the Board of Education must conform to the eligibility requirements of the Tennessee Election Code.
Meeting Information
Regular meetings of the Lewis County Board of Education are held each month at the Lewis County Board of Education Meeting Room located at 206 South Court Street, Hohenwald, TN 38462 beginning at 5:30 p.m. during work sessions and 6:00 p.m. during business meetings unless scheduled otherwise.
Public Comment (Citizens to Be Heard) Procedure
Individuals desiring to appear before the Board may request placement on the agenda by contacting the office of the Director of Schools within 72 hours before the meeting. They will be recognized at the beginning of the meeting during public input and remarks will be limited to (3) minutes.
The Lewis County Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, August 11, 2026,
in the Lewis County Board of Education Board Meeting Room
located on 206 South Court Street, Hohenwald, TN, for the regular scheduled meeting at 6:00 p.m.
There will be a workshop prior to the regularly scheduled meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The agenda will include:
· Director’s report
· Discussion/action to approve LCHS volleyball team to travel to Pigeon Forge on September 11, 2026 through September 13, 2026 to play in a tournament at the Sevierville Convention Center.
· Discussion/action to approve board policy 5.801/Director of Schools Recruitment and Selection.
· Discussion/action to approve 2026-2027 school employees.
· Approve Resolution of commendation for school board member Sallie Pollock
